If you've wondered what the process really looks like for getting a 3D model into Google Earth, you should check out this new video (also included below). You'll see a building created from scratch in SketchUp, pushed up for review, and placed in Google Earth for all to see. It's soup to nuts. The building is very simple and the reference photos are great for modeling (if I do say so myself).
This video provides step-by-step directions describing how to use photographs, Google SketchUp, Google Earth, and the Google 3D Warehouse to create and upload a model for consideration in Google Earth's 3D Building layer. Check it out when you have a chance.

This is a great tutorial video because it gets to the point and shows several texturing techniques that aren't shown elsewhere (that I know of .. and I have tons of video tutorial links).
After modeling for 3 months, I learned some important tips here re: Texturing that I wouldn't have known how to do otherwise.
Albeit short, it is the best video I have seen to-date on the topic of Geo-Reference Modeling.
Excellent video, it has inspired me to create my first building!
There does some to be one issue, I am unable to find the "Make Unique Texture" option when I draw a box and right click. Perhaps this is a "Pro" only option?
I've watched this video several times and it is helpful. However, where I have difficulties is with buildings with irregular top surfaces, like church steeples and dormers on houses. Paradoxically, those are the types of surfaces that would benefit from the geometry reducing nature of applied photo textures. How can I do those types of buildings?
Just realized I was on an older version of Sketch Up. You need version 7 to get the "Make Unique Texture" option. Once I upgraded it all worked fine.
About 3d warehouse Google colections...
Have you seen an porn advert which is showing when you click "discuss this 3D Collection" at this 3d modelig service collection made by Google?:)
Maybe it not suposed to be there...
or maybe it should?

Krzysztof
Update:
Thing I metioned in last post was corrected:) Now there is no link to forum:) Thx
This really is a great tutorial. Quick and to the point - and I hadn't discovered the potential of the push-pins and make unique texture features until I watched this. Thanks!
How did he know the building was 14 feet high?
Everytime I share a model usig the sketchup tool to share 3d models,
after the upload, it only shows a picture. There is no option to see as a 3D like in every warehouse model.
Can anybody help me with this....Pleeeese..
Chris.
Hey some text version of the tutorials must be given as well.
