Design Your Dwelling Competition: one week left!

Just a reminder that the Design Your Dwelling competition is closing this Sunday, August 31st. If you haven't submitted your model yet, start by visiting the site location in Google Earth. Each model must be uploaded to the Google 3D Warehouse and be submitted through the Dwell entry form. The chosen design will win a trip to San Francisco (airfare and hotel accommodations included), have lunch with Dwell & SketchUp staff, attend the Dwell/AIA home tours and receive a physical model of their dream home. We can't wait to see what you come up with!

when or how will we find out who wins the design your dwelling competition??

Yes I would like to know as well, if I remember correctly Dwell.com was going to post the winner Sept. 5, today and so for they have not.

Even the official website doesn't exists anymore. Always nice that the organizers take the entrees seriously. I looked on Dwell.com, but i couldn't find anything on the competition anymore.

I think it would be polite of Google and/or Dwell to send all entries an e-mail with the results

this entry is 'tagged' with "winners" not sure if that means it's the winner or not. http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=626e4d0f481354a23d71fc769895b899

announcing it tomorrow the 9th. http://www.dwell.com/services/contests/design_your_dwelling.html

This is not cool at all. We all worked hard to make these entries come true and no one even knows what is the final outcome. I think Dwell along with google should give all of us some sort of recognition. Whether it be a few pages of all entries on next months dwell or a page online to view runner ups and honorable mentions at the least!

People please... It's just a silly design competition, I mean really, I saw only one entry worthy of any recognition or award and that is the Container House. Nice presentation! If this project does not win, I would be surprised. Good luck to all and be patient and professional.

I'm sure there's a decent reason for the delay. And even though the trip to San Fransisco is in only a few days, they were nice enough to offer an alternative trip next June. Have patience everyone, I'm sure we'll hear news of a winner soon.

Hello to everyone, be quiet I m sure we are going to receive a mail soon about the winner...
I hope so!! it would be the minimum...

But between us it wasn t a big competition , it was more for funny to do that and the main thing is to enjoy your work...

G.l to all...

brian_d, you just offended the other 129 entries. seriously, there were several submittals worthy of recognition, Dwell + Sketchup even said so.

We are two !!!????

My respect to the people who used their time to be on a contest that doesn't have $$$ rewards.

Second time Dwell fails to say who the winner is. I wonder if they ever going to publish it.

Though I spent more time than I should on this project, it was basically for fun. Yet, I find this lack of professionalism very dissapointing.

Are the SketchUp people aware of this?

i just received an email they will announce the winner shortly, they said in 1/2 hour 45 minutes ago, no kidding, this gets better and better....adam

for the record brian_d was not the designer of the container house- I was. Thanks for the compliments brian.

Well, congratulations to Mr. Wilgus. Simple, good use of materials. Clear and descriptiive slide show. The entry is worthy of the grand prize.
